FED's Global Jam wraps with an LES Community Concert & Social Gathering
Today, FED serves up a concert and gathering in Manhattan’s Lower East Side (LES) that quintessentially encapsulates the FED spirit and mission. It’s a fifteen minute jam session, completely improvised, everybody welcomed. FED Global Jam Session curator, Genji Siraisi plays drums, and the piece features Groove Collective, Peter Apfelbaum, Eric Lane, and loads of special guests, including Indofunk Satish, who kicked off FED’s Global Jam Session in May.
Be sure to read while you listen for all the juicy players and details. The read is its own feast of LES musical history and present.
Recorded at Drom on Avenue A, April 30, 2025, this piece celebrates 100 years of LES history in 20 minutes. Sit back, tune in, and celebrate community resilience with us. Then, look to your own community for parallels. We hope you’ll add your local celebration to this Lower East Side and East Village extravaganza and thereby extend the FED table to your very own here and now. The feast is all around us!
Big love, Ashley ❤️
